The Burren

The Burren is an environmentally renowned area of County Clare comprising glaciated karst rock which gives the landscape a moon like appearance with flora such as the early purple orchid and mountain avens growing in the rock crevices. The Cliffs of Moher facing the wild Atlantic ocean and the villages of Doolin (famed for traditional music) and Lisdoonvarna (matchmaking festival) along with Poulnabrone Portal Tomb and Aillwee Caves are well worth visiting.
