Connemara is an area of West Galway on the Atlantic coast where the population still speak the native Gaelic language and some of the old customs and crafts of thatch roofs and turf fires survive to this day. Attractions such as the town of Clifden, the Aran Islands, Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park and Killary Harbour are well worth visiting.
